Cat movie star ‘Charlie’ murdered by soi dog

His was a short life of meteoric fame cut down too soon by fate’s jaws.

One of the biggest losses in the Thai cat entertainment industry happened last week when Charlie, the feline co-star of a just-released Sahamongkol Film rom-com was viciously murdered by a stray dog on Friday.

“Charlie now rests in peace,” his human companion wrote. “He snuck out of the house, and we found out he got bitten by a stray dog in the soi. Thanks everyone for loving Charlie. From now on, we will only see him in his movie.”

The death of Charlie, who in “Cat A Wabb!” played the gender-bending role of “Geisha,” was announced on his official Facebook page. Charlie might also be the first gay animal to become famous in Thailand, as his fanpage identifies hims “Charlie gay cat.”

In “Cat A Waab!,” Charlie co-starred celebrity top-cat Johnny and human heartthrob Arak “Pae” Amornsupasiri. The movie is still showing in theaters.

In memory of Charlie, take a look back at him sitting peacefully while Pae Arak played him a song.
