Canadian grunge-pop twins ‘Softcult’ coming to Bangkok

A Canadian indie rock act described as “music for mall goths” is coming to play Bangkok in their first Asian gig.

With live music slowly returning to the capital following a two year hiatus of international acts, Ontario-based twins Mercedes Arn-horn and Phoenix Arn-horn, aka Softcult, will take over a stage at Lido Connect next month, according to indie promoters Be a Bud and Wildest Youth.

The duo’s music blurs the lines between grunge, dreampop, indie pop, and shoegaze. Two local actis will open: Four-piece shoegazer Death of Heather and alt-rockers Conductor.

Tickets start at THB1,200 and are available online. They will be THB1,500 at the door.

The concert will take place May 23 at Lido Connect, a vintage cinema-turned-live music venue reachable from BTS Siam.
