Like Muay Thai and free stuff? Little too much junk in the trunk?
Visitors willing to burn 3,000 calories a day can stay free in a Silom-area hostel under a new initiative from Thailand’s ever-inventive tourism body.
To endear Muay Thai to tourists, a private double or twin room at Lub D hostel has been set aside the month of May for guests to stay, but only if they can burn 3,000 calories using the hostel’s Muay Thai facilities.
Guests are equipped with a calorie-counter wristband after check in, and if they don’t burn enough, full payment is required at checkout.
Visit its website for more information and how to book.
Meanwhile, the Tourism Authority of Thailand has also revived one of its more bizarre campaigns, “Extreme Makeover Thailand” for a “Season 2.”
