This week’s candidates for worst parents ever would be a Petchabun couple who let their baby sit in the bed of their truck without adult supervision.
In footage captured by another motorist’s dashboard camera, a baby riding in the bed of a pickup truck can be seen leaning over the side before falling head-first onto a highway road.
“I’d been looking at them for three minutes, and I thought to myself ‘they are gonna fall,'” Ple Kee Ami wrote of the baby and other young children in the back of the truck. “One of the older kids pointed at something out there, and the baby wanted to check it out too, and it fell.”
Ple immediately stopped the car and ran out to pick the baby up from the ground where it lay bleeding.
“I was afraid the baby was going to die, and it’s a road downhill road too, so I was afraid of getting hit by a car,” she wrote. “The baby looked like it was unconscious, it was bleeding from its head and face.”
Ple then confronted the mother who gave made an excuse so terrible that she probably meant it.
“I asked her ‘How could you put the baby in the back?’” Ple wrote. “She only said, ‘The baby wouldn’t sit in the cab.'” The woman did not speak Thai well, she said.
Ple added the man who was driving the car, presumably the father, smacked the other two children on the head for letting the baby fall.
Ple said she told the mother to take the baby to the hospital.
