Here’s your chance to feel like the Vikings, or Gimli from the Lord of the Rings, for a day.

Bangkok’s first axe-throwing bar is expanding its range to a temporary second location in downtown, and it will be conveniently located within the trendy, recently opened Artbox market near BTS Nana.

Starting this weekend, Golden Axe Throw Club will operate a pop-up within Artbox’s space on Soi Sukhumvit 10, giving the market’s visitors a chance to enjoy something apart from food, drinks and shopping.

Apart from cathartic and competitive axe throws, the venue also offers an “extreme playground” for adults, which will include knife throwing, shuriken (ninja star) throwing and other yard games, according to the owner Siriluk “Aom” Nelson.

“The market is handling food and drinks, so we will just be focusing on the crazy and wacky fun sports we’ve been known for,” Aom said.

Prices at the pop-up are not yet settled, but we’re told that they’ll be a bit higher than those set at the shop in Lat Phrao since “expenses are much higher at [the Sukhumvit location].” Right now they’re thinking of pricing the activities at THB600 per hour per person, and THB900 for two hours — but note that these are subject to change.

Golden Axe will be inside Artbox for the duration of the night market’s current residency, which will take place at Chuvit Garden until Nov. 30.

Golden Axe Throw Club opened in early 2018 by Aom and her husband Ryan Nelson, who is also a three-time axe-throwing champion from Canada. The venue originally opened on Soi Lat Phrao-Wanghin 69 but later moved to its current location on Soi Lat Phrao-Wanghin 71.
