Attention EDM lovers: Tomorrowland dance festival might come to Thailand

Thailand might be in for a big great party as Tomorrowland, one of the world’s biggest and most hyped EDM festivals, might expand its reaches to Thailand.

According to Thai party promoter World Planet Entertainment, the organizer of Tomorrowland is searching for a location that can accommodate 450,000 attendees.

“They want to hold Tomorrowland in Thailand. If we can bring the festival here, we must prepare a venue that can host up to 450,000 attendees,”  said the company’s Managing Director Chatri Tungthiankul.

“We will also have to be ready to facilitate the journey for festival-goers who travel from other countries,” he added.

Meanwhile, Tourism Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, said the government is working on what should be done to assure that Tomorrowland can be held in Thailand.

China and Japan have also expressed interest in hosting the festival.

Originating in Belgium, Tomorrowland is noted for its elaborate sets and designs. The festival has been held annually since 2005 in its homeland and has welcomed world talents such as David Guetta, Avicii and Skrillex.

The festival franchise also expanded to Brazil and United States in 2013. A Thailand event could mean that they would be holding four Tomorrowland events each year.

The upcoming Tomorrowland will be held in Boom, a town North of Brussels, on July 22-24 of this year. This year’s headliner is Belgian-Greek talents, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike.
