Smart Travel Asia travel magazine, the region’s only travel magazine with over one million readers worldwide, has revealed that Bangkok was voted to be the best city for holiday destinations.
According to the magazine’s “2013 Best in Travel Poll,” which ran from May – July, the City of Angels is the top spot for vacationers. The city also captured fourth place in a separate poll, the “2013 Top Cities for Business.”
“Compared to its rivals like the capital city of other countries in ASEAN, Bangkok is a versatile city, able to capture various needs of travellers; it can offer a variety of travelling experiences to visitors. For instance, in the heart of this city, you can enjoy shopping and eating out in upscale restaurants in Siam Square and the surrounding area while in the next 30 minutes, you may find a peaceful moment by visiting the temples along the Chao Phraya River. This is the charisma of Bangkok,” said Sugree Sithivanich, the Executive Director of the Advertising and Public Relations Division at TAT.
Phuket was also ranked as third in the poll while Ko Samui was voted ninth in the 2013 Best Holiday Destination.
