Thanks to the exploits of MTV EXIT (an NGO-ish entity spawned by the American media juggernaut with which it shares a moniker), the fight against human trafficking will soon have a new partner: Korean melodrama.
Butterfly, produced in Korea via a partnership between MTV EXIT, USAID, AusAID and UNICEF, is a three-part television drama that aims to “edutain” viewers through the stories of three people sold into modern-day slavery.
The telenovela will debut next Monday (March 25), at the bizarre hour of 8:30am, on Thailand’s Channel 7. Throughout April, it will be broadcast via MTV affiliates in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Taiwan.
