Artist joins forces with corrosive rust to prove a point about society

As the media loves to shine the spotlight on “hi-so” types in their ever-more expensive suits, who’s paying attention to the dominant population of the working class and their dirty denims?

In Sarawut Thaichuai’s upcoming exhibition of “Blood, Sweat and Rust,” this invisible group will finally be represented through the materials that define their existence.

Saruwat is an artist who hopes to enlighten others about the ongoing problems of the underrepresented. By developing a technique called ‘Living Art’ – which combines materials such as corrosive rust that destroy the quality of the work over time – the artist has tried to  utilise this deep and unusual twist in medium to reflect how the working class is destroyed by high-ranking society.

The exhibition will be held at the newly opened art space Sathorn 11 on Sept. 19.
