Apparently, Asia’s first-ever Playboy Cafe opened yesterday in Bangkok

In a strangely quiet fashion, the first Playboy Cafe in Asia opened yesterday at CentralFestival EastVille shopping mall on Bangkok’s Praditmanutham Road. Another one will open in Pattaya’s Central Marina in April, reported The Nation.

The franchise has allocated THB30 million to open 30 Playboy Cafes all over Thailand. But, apparently, not much of that is going toward marketing since there was little to no media buzz about the opening.

Playboy heir Cooper Hefner was flown in for the opening and appeared with Thai TV star Kimberly Tiamsiri at the opening.

Hefner said that Playboy clothing has been sold in Thailand for more than 15 years and is confident the cafes will also be successful.

We’re not so certain. Sure, the ears are novel but the tail can be found just about anywhere in Bangkok.
