For the first time ever, the world-famous Japanese illustrator Hajime Sorayama will unveil his three-dimensional ferocious cyborg Tyrannosaurus rex at an exhibition slated to run for one month at luxury shopping mall Central Embassy.
Best known for his detailed bio-mechanoid Sexy Robot, the 72-year-old Japanese self-styled “entertainer” will join hands with botanical art duo AMKK (Azuma Makoto and Kaju Kenkyusho) to display the global debut of the hyperrealistic Sorayama Space Park by AMKK.
Among the highlights are life-sized aluminum outdoor sculptures and indoor art installations, and of course, the centerpiece of Sorayama’s passion for the Jurassic period: his T. rex robot.
Sorayama Space Park by AMKK will run from Oct. 16 through Nov. 17 on the ground floor of Central Embassy, the high-end shopping mall that’s connected to BTS Phloen Chit.
Sorayama Space Park is a part of Central Embassy’s 5th anniversary celebrations.
It’s not the first time Sorayama’s work is getting a show in Bangkok. His Sawasdee Sexy Robot was held at EchoOne ArtSpace near the National Stadium.
