The Purge: Anarchy
A sequel to last year’s dire feast of violence by director James DeMonaco features a couple stuck on the road during the annual murder day known as the “Purge,” when all types of violence are legal for 12 hours. We expect Anarchy to show the darker side of the darker side of humans as well as small moments of decency in the face of death. But more death.

Premature
This R-rated comedy by first-time director and cowriter Dan Beers tells the story of a high school boy who has to relive the day he loses virginity again and again until he gets it right. Think Groundhog Day with a different animal popping up every time.

A Walk Among The Tombstones
It’s Liam Neeson again. This time he plays a role we all love to see: an ex-cop-turned-detective with a drinking problem. He was asked by a drug dealer to find the man who kidnapped the dealer’s wife. He was totally not gonna do it but then something happens to change his mind. Think Bad Detective with less Bad.

Fin Sugoi
Noona is so addicted to J-Rocker “Makoto” she can’t have sex with her boyfriend until she looks at a photo – of Makoto. Her boyfriend is understandably frustrated by this. The story of their love-triangle (possibly love-pentagon) spans both the lands of smiles and rising sun.

God Help The Girl
This indie musical explores the life-changing moments of Eve, a girl who uses songwriting to cope with her emotional problems. It’s picked up some awards and noms on the fest circuit, maybe its IMDB 6.6 should be overlooked.

Once Upon A Time in Shanghai
This action-packed, Hong Kong-made movie stars Sammo Hung Kam-Bo as a laboror who moves to Shanghai in search for a better life, only to end up using his Kung Fu skills to survive. We score it a perfect 5-MANS movie.
