Red bull heir Vorayuth “Boss” Yoovidhya has spent five years avoiding repeated legal summonses since allegedly hitting Sgt. Maj. Wichian Klanprasert’s motorcycle with his Ferrari in Thong Lor in 2012, killing the man and fleeing the scene.

Vorayudh, 31, has been summoned yet again to meet prosecutors today to learn whether or not he will be indicted for the crime.

Crediting the fact that he has never appeared once, many think that he will skip his responsibilities again.

According to the Bangkok Post, he can send his lawyer to represent him and hear whether he will be prosecuted. In the past, his lawyer has show up on Vorayudh’s behalf — but only to ask for an extension because his client is ill or out of the country, not to act as a proxy.

If the suspect is charged today but does not appear for the trial, a warrant can be issued for his arrest. However, officials may announce that they are closing the case today if they decide not to indict. That is a possibility if they claim they have already sufficiently investigated this case.

If he does not show up to face charges today, or authorize his lawyer to do so, the attorney-general will make the decision about the next step in the case.
