DJs Dragon and Sinamon are bringing fine underground to the masses, free of charge, with this month’s Dubway Sessions. Special guests DJs Swindle, Vincent Smith, Bariyard and MikeE are playing only hard basslines all night, from dubstep to drum ‘n’ bass. With no entry free, there’s naturally no excuse to pop in and see what Bangkok’s quickly blossoming bass culture scene is going on about.

Here’s a good excuse check out the live music scene at Play Yard, a little retro bar in the Lad Prao area. Mind the Gap is reuniting after a two-year hiatus and to celebrate, the band is joined by a slew of other well-known Thai acts, including Abuse the Youth, Tabasco, Kobe and Cigarette Launcher. Expect to hear Thai indie rock, but with flairs of alternative, Britpop and post-punk in the mix. If anything, at least you can play with the collection of dolls and collectibles covering Play Yard’s shelves.

4pm. THB 250 including one drink. Play Yard by Studio Bar. MRT Phahon Yothin.
