A Silom cocktail lounge has wasted no time launching a new drink lineup.

In the few weeks since alcohol began flowing a little more freely, Vesper unveiled a new menu as well as a new bar manager imported from a storied London establishment.

Vesper has recruited Milan-born mixologist Federico Balzarini, who previously worked at the Savoy Hotel’s American Bar in London to take over. He was senior bartender at the American for four years ending in June and replaces Supawit “Palm” Muttarattana, who left Vesper in April.

Continuing a conceit established last year, Vesper’s “Contrast Edition 3” menu updates combinations of contrasting concepts with ingredients and flavors. Drinks include Tipsy/Sober (Plantation 3 rum, white chocolate, jasmine, coconut water, shiso leaf, sparkling wine), and Beauty & the Beast (Appleton 12 rum, Manzanilla sherry, umeshu, Lapsang Souchong black tea, Angostura, absinth).

For a more metaphysical pour, try Beginning/End/Beginning, which mixes Roku gin with yuzu sake, saffron sorbet, and sparkling wine.

Vesper is currently open 5pm onward every day except Sunday and Monday. It’s located on Convent Road, a short walk from BTS Sala Daeng and MRT Silom.
