Thai weed grower opens CBD cafe by Sukhumvit Road for 4/20

Short of a proper spliff, celebrate the occasion with the next best thing at a new cafe dedicated to marijuana opening today just off Sukhumvit Road.

The latest in an exploding number of venues adding cannabis to the mix, GTG Cafe is tucked inside a house on Soi Sukhumvit 36, serving caffeinated items and desserts infused with CBD.

Behind the cafe is hemp and weed firm Golden Triangle Group, which has partnered with a Thai university to grow high-quality hemp for use in medical, cosmetic, and F&B products. The firm has begun successfully cultivating a variety called Raksa which averages 16% CBD, a high level of the extract being marketed as a wellness panacea.

Among the cafe’s beverages are Cannatonic Iced Tea (THB110), Cannatonic Iced Milk Tea (THB150), Cannabutter Hot Milk Coffee (THB150) while a baked dish to go with it includes Cannabutter Brownie served alongside cannabis terpene whipped cream (THB100) or Croissant smeared with cannabis-infused butter (THB90). Frozen desserts are on the menu, too: OG Kush Dark Choc Fudge Brownie Ice Cream (THB120) and refreshing cup of Passionfruit Pineapple Express Sorbet (THB120).

The joint also has products for to-go such as a jar of GTG Cannabutter is THB150.

GTG Cafe is located on Soi Sukhumvit 36, reachable from BTS Thong Lo.
