It’s that time of year again. Dressed to impress, breath fresh, and looking for love. But before you give up and buy a bouquet of Ferrero Rocher, hear us out. Skip the many-starred restaurants and instead go to this new chocolate cafe in the Ari neighborhood.
Adding to the few cafes specializing in chocolates such as Kad Kokoa, Sarath N. Chocolatier and Paradai, Bangkok welcomed a new chocolaterie that opened recently: Katie Chocolaterie.
From the people behind the buzz-worthy bakery Kenn’s Coffee and Croissant, Katie’s concept is rather simple: They want visitors to forget their table manners and enjoy the chocolate.
Their Hedgehog (THB245), like the name suggests, sees hot dark chocolate topped with several pointy chocolate bars, while the Spicy Katie (THB265) takes inspiration from margaritas rimmed with chili and spice on the glass. There’s also a crispy cookie shot (THB85) available in your choice of single origin or special blend cacao.
For this Valentine’s Day on Monday, the cafe offers three items: Pinky Shaky, where white chocolate is matched with rose tea, vanilla ice-cream and homemade strawberry puree and crumbles, Berry Mousse Cookie Shot available in two flavors (strawberry mousse or raspberry mousse), and Red Velvet silky-soft cake stuffed with white chocolate cream cheese.
Katie Chocolatier is located in Soi Ari 2 and can be reached by a walking a few minutes from BTS Ari.
