Start queuing for next year’s arrival of an American burger and shake institution.

Famous for its ShackBurgers, fries and shakes; Shake Shack announced last night that it will open its first store in Bangkok in 2023.

“Sawasdee, Thailand! We’ll be serving ShackBurgers in The Land of Smiles soon,” it wrote on social media.

The location of the Shack in Bangkok was not immediately announced, but it looks like there will be a lot more Shacks in Thailand – exactly up to 15 branches of them by 2032. Just last year, the CEO of the chain, Randy Garutti, said he had “big plans for Asia.”

Shake Shack has already opened several stores in Singapore and Manila.

The company’s Thai licensee is Maxim Caterers Ltd., which operates dozens of Shake Shacks in Greater China including Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Nanjing and Guangzhou, as well as Hong Kong. The company courted controversy and was boycotted by Hong Kong protesters after its founder’s daughter, Annie Wu, denounced the pro-democracy movement.
