COCONUTS HOT SPOT — Remember the story of The Three Little Pigs? Where the third pig escaped being eaten because unlike his unfortunate brothers, his sturdy brick home survived the huffing and puffing of the big bad wolf?
The Third Pig bar and restaurant, owned by a group of friends born in the Chinese Year of the Pig, takes this idea of a safe haven and runs with it, offering porcine-themed food and cocktails in a cozy farmhouse-style setting.

The five signature – or rather, Pignature, cocktails take inspiration from the fairytale. The “Brick House Cobbler” (THB260) mixes together chocolate liqueur, port wine, vodka, blackcurrants and cranberries, topped with Kit-Kat pieces, cherries and mint leaves. Or for something less sweet try the “Huff and Puff” (THB260), a smoke-filled concoction of cognac and jelly wine topped with a Thai cracker.

If you’re lucky and manage to catch the bartenders on a less busy night, they may even mix up an off-menu cocktail just for you on request.

The homey, Thai-style dishes include “Pork Palo on Golden Nest” or fried pork-covered eggs on a nest of crispy noodles (THB120) and fried pork seasoned with Chinese five spices with sticky rice (THB180). Or you can opt for Thai-fusion items with a Western twist like New Zealand mussels marinated in a soup of Thai tamarind and white wine (THB260); salted-egg flavor French fries with a side of Italian marinara sauce and garlic mayo (THB120); and a Caesar salad topped with green curry chicken (THB170).
