Though we’ll miss the old drinks like the Beauty and the Beast or Money and Soul, it’s time for something new at Vesper — ranked 19th of Asia’s 50 Best Bars — which has unveiled new drinks to replace its longtime favorites.
Fear not, though. Vesper recently launched a People of Vesper menu consisting of 14 new drinks that take inspiration from the bar’s regular customers.
It start with lighter cocktails like June Bug Highball (THB400) — a rum-based cocktail with a heady mix of melon, banana, coconut, and pineapple — or Cumin Highball (THB420) featuring a velvety bourbon with saffron and coriander. Mango Manhattan (THB520) is another crowd-pleaser thanks to its playful twist to Manhattan but still packs the usual punch, using Mango Michter’s Bourbon, in-house vermouth blend, absinthe, and White Port.
More highlights include Miami Vice Vesper (THB420), a tributary variation of Vesper’s favorite cocktail with Coconut Tanqueray Gin, Ketel One Vodka and Strawberry Dry Vermouth. Libre (THB420) is another rum-based cocktail reminiscent of an old fashioned but topped with cola foam; it is subtly sweet and sour from tamarind. Another glass that might impress the drinkers is Silver Aviation (THB440) featuring Roku gin, sparkling wine, bitter walnut, and coffee.
Vesper is located on Soi Sala Daeng 2 in the Silom area. It’s open from 5:30pm until late.
