The debut of Thailand’s first Taco Bell is so close, we can almost taste the good ol’ cheesy gordita crunch.

How do we know? Because the first outpost of the US fast food chain, located at the foot of BTS Chidlom, has put up the familiar pink and blue sign heralding its arrival.

The outlet will be inside Mercury Ville, the red mixed-use building located at the curve between Rama IV and Lang Suan road. The space used to be a Harrods Cafe until a few months ago.

Here is a little preview of your future Taco Bell:

CEO Chalermchai Mahagitsiri of Thoresen Thai Agencies (TTA), which acquired the license to operate Taco Bell in Thailand, first announced in June that the company had successfully closed the Taco Bell deal with its parent company Yum! Brands.

TTA expects that the American fast food chain will be a hit because of its “strong flavors that meet the palate of Asian people.”

Previous attempts to penetrate the Asian market have been decidedly hit or miss, though there has been a renewed push to make it happen in the past few years.

In the report, Chalermchai said Thais can expect their first Taco Bell at the end of this year, or in early 2019.

Oh, mama! Our stomachs are so ready.
