It wouldn’t be the first time a trip to Bangkok has spelled disaster for a relationship: Soi Cowboy and Nana Plaza seem to have a compelling effect on all but the most strong-willed of gents. But, yesterday’s reports that Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes were finished have turned out to be false.
Reports from the UK press claimed the buff Hollywood A-lister currently filming in Bangkok had ditched his stunning girlfriend, Eva Mendes, after just six months. The Daily Mail reported he had callously left her in BKK while he hopped on a flight to South Africa to wine and dine a German model in The Grand Café, Cape Town.
A source at the restaurant was blabbing to anyone who’d listen that Gosling “tried to disguise himself with a woolly hat and scarf and seemed eager not to be noticed as they sat at a beach table, but he was clearly entranced by her.”
However, it seems the “source” who spotted Mr Gosling may have just seen some shifty bloke with a passing resemblance to the Ides of March star, because Ryan and Eva were allegedy photographed (by party promoter Dudesweet) together at WTF Bar in Bangkok at the same time of the alleged South African date.
Unfortunately, all those quotes about Gosling needing “time to think” and him and Eva “having trouble seeing eye to eye” were all a horrible lie designed to mess with the emotions of the singletons of Bangkok.
So, after a sleepless night studying the vault system of the St. Regis, making calls to find out where one can purchase chloroform and an industry-strength drill, and planning our casual bumping-into-Ryan-Gosling-in-the-lifts-outside-his-room move, the ladies of Bangkok wake up to this terrible, terrible news.
Yes, it’s official; Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are still blissfully happy. How we hate to be the bearers of bad tidings.
UPDATE: We are receiving reports that the photo from Dudesweet may have been taken much earlier than it was tweeted, which would negate it as evidence that Gosling was in Bangkok. But now a rep from Mendes has “slammed” reports that they broke up and said that they are very much still on , Us Weekly reported. Looks like Gosling is still taken… for now.
