A famously grungy space in the Rama IX area, Fatty’s Bar and Diner, will throw itself a 10th anniversary party dubbed Fat Fest X this weekend.

Over the two days, they will offer a limited picnic-style menu in a mostly Wisconsin style: bratwurst, hot dogs, chili, and tacos with potato salad, coleslaw, and a few other sides. You’ll also find beer specials, chugging contests, and more than 10 live bands.

“It feels like 10 years of hard working and hard partying are catching up with me,” owner Matthew Fischer said. “I couldn’t do it without my lovely wife Kae and my loyal team.”

Fatty’s mostly flies under the radar but boasts a loyal following and has a strong sense of community — plus a rock and roll vibe thanks to being one of the most legit live music venues in Bangkok.

Fatty’s serves all-American junk food from burgers (starting at THB210) to buffalo wings (starting at THB130) and hot dogs (starting at THB130) at reasonable prices.

The two-day party will run from 4pm until late on Friday and Saturday. Admission is free.

Fatty’s Bar & Diner is located on Asoke-Din Daeng Road and can be reached via MRT Phra Ram 9.
