The boys in brown unearthed some trippy goodness during raids on two bars Monday morning.
Armed with two teams of 120 officers, Deputy Interior Minister Visarn Techathirawat raided the bars Safe House on Ekkamai Road and Terminal by Pan on Ratchadapisek Road around 3 am.
The mush in question was found taped to the underside of tables.
Despite finding drugs on hand both pub managers were only detained and charged with the illegal sale of alcohol. Legal hours extend until 2 am.
At Terminal by Pan, more than 200 party-goers witnessed the raid. Officers also found small bags of ketamine and Erimin-5 sleeping pills.
The searches were prompted by complaints filed with police from parents whose underage children party at the locales. “Some of them are old enough and we have to respect their decisions to party, but some others are still young and are tricked into drinking alcohol mixed with drugs and aphrodisiacs, and are at risk of being taken advantage of,” Visarn said.
Visarn said that it’s easy to spot venues similar to Safe House or Terminal by Pan because they advertise afterhours parties and outrageous beer prices, to the tune of THB600 per bottle. In addition, a few venues carry illegal slot machines, reports the Bangkok Post.
