Although Bangkok, like most of Thailand is under a military-imposed curfew, it seems largely theoretical to the crowds still partying well into every morning.
Army soldiers and officers from the Thong Lo police department made a joint patrol of the popular nightlife area last night to inspect nightclubs and ask owners to cooperate by closing early.
According to police Col. Chutrakul Yosmadee, officers searched for drugs and minors at several popular venues: Funky Villa, Wip and Sherbet. While there, they asked management to encourage visitors to leave before 11pm.
The army however said it won’t order business owners to close, according to Lt. Col. Passakorn Kulraweewan, but would like to remind everyone to go home before the curfew.
No drugs, weapons or illegal objects were found last night, Khaosod reported.
