Thanks to Bangkok’s gubernatorial election, you will be unable to get your drink on from 6pm this Saturday until early Monday morning. In other words: if you want to party, tonight is your night.
For details, we’ll go ahead and let the Election Commission take it away:
The Election Commission of Thailand imposed a strict ban on alcohol sales or giveaway, or any feasts involving alcoholic beverages within the Bangkok area from 6pm on Mar. 2 to 12am on Mar. 3. The violator would face a six-month prison sentence and/or a THB10,000 fine.
The election law also prohibits voters to tear a ballot paper or they would encounter a one-year prison sentence and/or a THB20,000 fine. Taking photos of ballot papers inside polling booths is restricted as well.
