That’s why they’ve decided to revamp the menu at The Roof, their splendid rooftop eaterie, 25 floors up in Bangkok’s premier shopping district. We’ve long been fans of the view here, and now they’ve given us another reason to get in that elevator: a reason you can eat.

The new menu is packed with the kind of finely tuned fare that gets us salivating. It’s a concept they’re calling “Gastro Gourmet”, which, to you and me, means combining sophisticated gastronomical techniques with essential, elemental flavors.

Think dishes like Beef Cheek Raviolis Consommé Maraichere Vegetables with Truffle Oil. If that overwhelms your language skills, try Grilled Tiger Prawn Salad featuring Green Apple, Pecans and Goat Cheese with Citrus Dressing.
Chunksteak of Sable Fish Steamed with Thyme Black Olive and Basil Tapenade and Baked Vegetables
There’s a focus here on quality produce from the earth and the sea: Chunk Steak of Sablefish Steamed with Thyme, Black Olive and Basil Tapenade with Baked Vegetables; and Pan-Seared Slab of Sirloin Beef Bourguignon and Roasted Potatoes Served with Red Wine Sauce. Think full, earthy flavors that don’t overpower the palate.

Of course at this time of year there’s an elephant in the room: an elephant called “Christmas”. The Siam@Siam Design Hotel wouldn’t want to leave you out in the cold in the festive season, so they’ve devised a program of promotions for the whole family.
On Christmas Eve, Wednesday, 24th December, the hotel’s Party House One Restaurant is hosting a dinner buffet, with backing from the house band. Santa will be there, so bring the kids. Price is THB1,500 net per person inclusive of free flow Mulled Wine. Entry’s half price for children of 5-15 years and free for children under 5 years between 6:30pm and 10pm.
Meanwhile, at La Vue and The Roof Restaurant, the head chef will serve up a six-course set dinner menu using the finest ingredients. Prices start at THB5,500 net per person inclusive of free-flow Mulled Wine. The Roof Sky Bar will offer special festive cocktails at only THB350 net per drink from 5:30pm to midnight.
On Christmas Day, Thursday, 25th December, Party House One will host a Christmas lunch, with festive menus and songs. Santa will be back to present gifts to children. Price is THB499 net per person, half price for children of 5 to 15 years and free for children under 5 between 11.30am and 2:30pm.
