Head up Soi Sukhumvit 37 and find Sarnies latest pop-up is not just about croissants.
What’s interesting is its rotating menu of pizzas which change every two weeks. The idea, the venue told Coconuts Bangkok, is to let customers get the best from its temporary space — so these are no ordinary pizzas.
The menus are overseen by Leopard Crust Pizza’s Feng Chen, who is known for creative pizzas and claims to have experimented with 600 recipes to perfect her light, airy sourdough pizza.
Current options include the Marinara (THB280), the tomato-sauce classic laden with fresh oregano and garlic confit; the Rocket Man (THB360), a creamy pizza with pancetta, rocket, and mozzarella; and the Squash Goals (THB350), which comes with crispy sage, pancetta, mozzarella, and gorgonzola on a pumpkin cream base.
On our last visit, we tried Netflix n’ Chili (THB350), a tomato-based pizza with pepperoni, pickled chili, mozzarella, and grana padano. The sourdough crust was crispy with deeply caramelized dark spots, and the tomato paste lent a gentle acidity and sweetness. It’s a shame we didn’t have more room for another.
Initially the pop-up had planned to sell pizza after 5pm, but due to popular demand will sling pies starting at noon. Hit early for the croissants (they run out fast), or simply go after 5pm when they can serve alcohol — think Chalawan Pale Ale (THB260).
Taking inspiration from Japanese-themed cafes in the Phrom Phong area, Sarnies’s Pop-up collaborated with mural artists Min Supitcha and Luke Satoru to paint its walls in a kimono-style pattern.
Sarnies’s Pop-up is located on Soi Sukhumvit 37 and is reachable from BTS Phrom Phong. It’s open 7am to 9pm daily (coffee and pastries 7am-3pm, pizza at noon-9pm, and cocktails 5pm-9pm).
