Omotesando Koffee, a much-hyped Japanese franchise coffee shop, is set to open its first store in Thailand next month at Siam Paragon, the luxury mall smack in the middle of Bangkok.
Originally started by barista Eiichi Kunitomo, the original Omotesando Koffee was tucked away in the backstreets of Tokyo’s Shibuya. The minimalist shop, which lived for 5 years and then closed down in 2015, was famous for offering customers the charming Japanese tea ceremony experience — but with coffee.
Kunimoto would carefully craft the coffee per cup, and take his time serving only one customer at a time. After the building that housed Omotesando Koffee was demolished in 2015, the owner moved his coffee shop to another building in Shibuya and rebranded it as Koffee Mameya, which is still open today.

However, its overseas franchises in countries like Hong Kong, Singapore, and England still go by the original name of Omotesando Koffee.
The exact opening date has yet to be announced, but their social media presence has already emerged to keep us in the loop.
