Instakitchen Bangkok E12: Gai hor bai toey at Tummy Yummy Restaurant

In the final episode of this season’s Instakitchen Bangkok, Coconuts TV visits Tummy Yummy Restaurant on leafy Soi Tonson to try out their signature dish: the gai hor bai toey or fried marinated chicken in pandan leaves.

Run by manager Viyanee Putthianan, Tummy Yummy is an urbane and relaxing spot styled after a European farmhouse. Its gai hor bai toey is the most popular dish on the menu because the chicken is marinated not just in the traditional oyster sauce and black pepper mix, but also with curry powder.

The succulent meat is then wrapped in pandan leaves for a lovely floral fragrance, before it’s deep fried and served with sweet ginger sauce.
