‘Tis the season for a Norwegian Christmas dinner in Bangkok, is it not?
That means gnawing on baby sheep ribs and a golden opportunity for members and friends to meet up and reflect on the new year while welcoming the next at an event hosted by the Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce at a downtown pub.
The event starts at 6pm on Dec. 15 with a buffet of traditional Norwegian Christmas fare available in three options. The warm option stars Pinnekjott, or cured lamb’s ribs, as well as roast crispy pork, roast ham, meatballs, and homemade sausage.
The cold cuts include marinated salmon with dill sauce, three types of pickled herring with capers and onions, pickled salmon with dill sauce, chicken salad, salami, roast beef, and a homemade liver pate.
For vegetarians, there is Scandinavian hash, Vegetable spring rolls, and mixed salad with nuts.
It’s all followed by traditional Scandinavian dessert Risalamande, a rice pudding served with cherry sauce.
Tickets are sold online for THB2,700 and THB2,200 members.
The event will be held at the Admiral’s @24 Pub & Restaurant at the Oakwood Resindence in Soi Sukhumvit 24, a short walk from BTS Phrom Phong.
Advance booking is required and the organizer requests all participants to take COVID ATKs prior to the event.
