A gritty avant-garde art exhibit to open at WTF

Under Construction is the brainchild of accomplished Bangkok-based Japanese artist Eiji Sumi. Sumi has drawn inspiration from his captivation with construction sites. By juxtaposing paint and pattern with found construction site objects he hopes to evoke a sensation that sways between gritty dystopia and avant-garde development.

Under Construction, a mixed-media presentation utilizes paint, multimedia projections and lighting installations. To fully encompass viewers Sumi commissioned New York based Swedish sound designer Niklas Moller. Sumi’s exhibit spills forth with striking color, line and rubble.

The exhibition will open tomorrow night, August 1, from 6pm until 9pm at WTF Gallery on Sukhumvit 51. Under Construction will run until September 15.
