Free Cone Day! Ben&Jerry’s comes to Siam Paragon next month

After getting us all hyped-up by their mysterious ice-cream tuk tuk poster last week, America’s favorite boutique ice-cream label, Ben&Jerry’s, has announced that it will launch its first Bangkok shop with a free cone day.

As you might have already spied, the shop will be located on the ground floor of Siam Paragon and will open on July 9. Fans, and soon-to-be fans, can queue up, try all of the flavors, and choose what they’d like for their free cone, starting from the mall’s opening hour.

Judging from Bangkokians’ reaction to the arrival of any popular foreign product — especially anything food-related — we expect this opening to be anarchy on par with the opening days of Krispy Kreme and Garrett Popcorn .

The brand told Coconuts that the queue is expected to reach all the way to the fountain area outside the mall. However, they will attempt to create “the happiest queue ever” by throwing a mini concert, a live painting event, and games where the winners might get a chance to move up the queue, according to Ben&Jerry’s spokesman.

For flavors, the brand tossed out a few of their classic flavor names, such as Cherry Garcia and Cookie Dough, that will be staples in their shop, but the full list is yet to be confirmed. One thing we do know, there will be more options available than in Villa Market, and customers will be able to customize their cones and sundaes.

Prices have not yet been confirmed.

Asked if there will be a special flavors for Bangkok, they said it is expected at some point, but sadly, not anytime soon.

Ben&Jerry’s was founded by Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield in 1978. Its headquarters is in South Burlington, Vermont. Each year, over a million free cones are given away.
