Eugene “Hideaway Bridges” brings the blues

There’s a legendary blues man coming to Bangkok.

Eugene “Hideaway” Bridges, a nomadic American musician who has toured the world singing soul from the heart is set to croon in the Land of Smiles this week. Bridges will be playing at Apoteka’s two locations, Thong Lor and Sukhumvit 11, as a guest of the resident band, Soi Dogs.

Bridges comes from blues royalty. His father is guitarist Otheneil Bridges (“Hideaway Slim”) and he’s related to Tina Turner on his mothers’ side. At five years old, he was already playing with his father around the state of Louisiana. Bridges has released seven studio albums. He’s also a seven-time nominee for a USA Blues Music Award, including album of the year.

Check him out Wednesday at Apoteka Thong Lor and Thursday at Apoteka in Sukhumvit 11.
