Into the Thonglor compound of Bo.lan, Err and sustainable cocktail bar Wasteland comes Must Wine Bar, a comfy sipping lounge with a generous list of biodynamic wines.
Working closely with artisanal and organic wine distributor, FIN (Fabulous Is Needed), the venue is tucked under the same roof of Michelin-starred Bo.lan. There, patrons can sit on couches and sip wines playing card games such as Uno and Cards Against Humanity. What’s are biodynamics, you ask? Agriculture that goes beyond organic to embrace ecological and ethical practices.
At launch, the list has 26 labels and will change with some special entries thrown in now and then. We recommend the 2014 Freisinger Schiava Doc, Cantina Tramin from Italy’s Alto Adige — a red with hints of red currants, light bitter almonds, coffee and touch of violets (THB400 for a 125ml glass, THB990 for a 375ml carafe or THB1,940 for a bottle).
In a mood for a white wine instead? Try the 2018 Hullabaloo Cuvée White Trocken by Markus Schneider from Pfalz, Germany. It boasts aromas of citrus, gooseberry and exotic fruit (THB390 per glass).
When hunger strikes, Err’s menu offers Thai street bites including moo ping pork skewers (THB125), Siamese pickles (THB65) and the addictive spicy watermelon seeds (THB85).
To go along with Bo.lan’s “Zero Waste to Landfill” concept, all bottles will be upcycled into water jugs courtesy of the Etna glass company. Once you’ve enjoyed your wine, just peel and clean the labels and glue from the bottles and drop them off at FIN Wine’s office near Asoke intersection on Ratchadapisek Road.
Must Wine Bar is located inside Bo.lan on Soi Sukhumvit 53 and can be reached from BTS Thong Lo exit No. 1.
