When the month of May arrives in nine days, folks in Bangkok and a few provinces will be able to drink until midnight once again, health authorities deigned to announce today.
Taweesilp Wissanuyothin of the COVID-19 task force today announced that people living in 12 “tourism areas” including Bangkok can drink alcohol inside restaurants or bars with restaurant licenses and SHA+ certification until midnight.

The additional hour does not apply to karaoke bars and booze license-only pubs – they can only serve food.
The 12 so-called tourism areas are Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, Krabi, Chonburi, Chiang Mai, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Phang-nga, Petchaburi, Phuket, Rayong, and Songkhla – the latter two provinces were recently added to the list.
