Bangkok will soon play home to a new African restaurant, but before that auspicious occasion, A Taste Of Africa will be offering takeout and delivery services to Silom, Sukhumvit and Sathorn.
Originally slated for a June opening, the Ekkamai-based eatery has delayed that auspicious date. Renovations and expanding capacity have pushed back the expected opening date until sometime this month, but in the meantime you can enjoy some African specialties from the comfort of your home. For now, the delivery service is limited to the weekends, as the kitchen fine-tunes its techniques. The restaurant recommends ordering far ahead in order to ensure that it has enough dishes to go around.
The menu includes pan-African specialties, with a special focus on Ghanaian style cuisine. There’s Ghanaian stew with chicken, chicken with agussi sauce on a bed of plantains, and even a vegetarian option in the form of black eyed beans with Ghanaian stew, served with chapatti. The restaurant’s specialty is fried chicken done in the Ghanaian style. To try it all, consider ordering one of the set menus for either two people at THB800 or four people at THB1,400.
