After a slew of pastry-specific cafes popped up around town heralding the Age of Croissant, we thought we’d hit peak pastry with the launch of a baked bouquet for Valentine’s Day.

But future historians may look back on these developments as merely the beginning of a full Croissannaisance now that a Japanese-style bar in the heart of Thonglor has seized on Bangkok’s latest food trend with a version for our Gilded Age.

“A crescent-shape dessert that’s served in a more luxurious way. It’s freshly taken out of a warm stove with inviting fragrance at first smell,” Mido 365 Bar advertised them.

Coated in a layer of gold dust, they come in three varieties: original, chocolate and white malt icing. A box of five croissants is THB399 over the counter or via delivery.

Mido 365 Bar is located inside Eight Thonglor shopping mall on Soi Sukhumvit 55. It’s open 11am to 9pm daily.
