Come To Yum: Preview some of the tastiest treats to try at Yum Fest Bangkok

With each day that passes, we at the Coconuts office become more excited about Yum Fest Bangkok. We can’t wait to eat all the foods, drink all the drinks, dance to all the bands, and watch all the competitive eaters on stage.

Here is a roundup of just a few of the delights to be presented at Yum Fest Bangkok:

Daniel Thaiger – The burger truck that launched a thousand broken diets and began the food truck frenzy in Bangkok. Their burgers need no introduction for anyone even remotely interested in food or anyone who has been in the city longer than five minutes. You know what it’s all about. You can feast on all their classic offerings at Yum Fest.

Doni Nacho – We can never turn down cheesy, salty, delightful nachos and hope you feel the same. Regulars at Talad Rod Fai night market, this nacho stand offers hot, gooey nachos with an array of extra toppings. If you’re anything like us though, you’ll take all the toppings.

The Dock – For those looking for a healthier or more upmarket option, well-loved Thonglor seafood bar The Dock will be on hand serving up sushi; sashimi; tuna and salmon salads served tartare, carpaccio, or tataki-style; and live oysters in Fine De Claire (France), Coffin Bay (Australia), and Irish Premium (Ireland) varieties.

Bloc 26 – This highly-rated enterprise specializes in just one Japanese dish, takoyaki. For those not in the know, this is a ball-shaped snack crafted of flour, batter, and (usually) filled with diced octopus. When served, it’s presented with tempura, pickled ginger, and spring onions. Bloc 26 pushes the envelope — and the taste profile — by using fresh whole baby octopus in each takoyaki. As one reviewer said, “Definite must try for baby octopus lovers…”

Sourced Grocers – This gourmet shop from The Commons will set up a spot at Yum offering delicious, drippy, gooey, crispy grilled brie cheese sandwiches. To press the envelope even more, they will have three kinds of panini as well. You see what we did there? “Press” and “panini.” Oh yeah.
