Seen the long lines in front of Phahonyothin’s Blu 395 apartment building? Those people know that inside is the neighborhood’s newest hip cafe.
Opened last week on the building’s ground floor, two-story coffee joint Bonci offers a minimal yet striking interior dominated by warm wood textures and navy blue accents bathed in natural light. In other words, the perfect backdrop for double shots of Instagram and espresso.
Grab a hot americano (THB90) or caramel macchiato (THB120) made from their house blend (Brazilian Samba beans) or special blend roasts (Ethiopian Yirgacheffe and Brazilian Samba beans). Some cafe-hoppers may opt for signature hits such as Bimbom Cream (THB150), a cream cheese latte topped with whipped cream or the hype-of-the-town Dirty (THB130), a shot of espresso mixed with fresh milk.
Non-coffee drinkers can take their pick from selections such as iced matcha and hojicha lattes (both THB150) or sparkling yuzu sours and honey lemons (both THB120).
If you’re feeling hungry, there is a variety of light bites including flake croissants of butter (THB80), almond (THB130) and chocolate lava (THB150). Also find desserts like carrot cake (THB100) and soft serve ice cream (THB100 for vanilla).
A temporary attraction is the curtained photo booth which patrons, until it goes away Monday, can book in advance for three-frame shots that come with two copies for THB140.
The second floor is meant to be a bar, but due to the second coming of COVID-19, the space is currently only for coffee and tea drinkers.
