A BBC crew in Thailand has been spending a ten day gap between filming sessions by partying on the beach at a 5-star hotel, all thanks to British taxpayers.
We certainly can’t blame them, but the news has irked the good people of Britannia, who must endure a far-less appealing climate.
The crew had been filming the BBC3 series – Sun, Sex and Suspicious Parents, which follows teenagers on their first holiday abroad. The hook is that their parents are secretly watching them the whole time.
But filming was reportedly scrapped when the three boys they were focusing on realized what was happening.
With ten days left before they could film the next batch of travelers, the crew decided to spend their time partying on a yachts and in bars.
BBC bosses insist that the group had not broken BBC guidelines and they had continued to work on other material.
But thanks to social media, the crew had already posted pictures of themselves partying online.
Producer and director Blake McGrow wrote: “Not much to film at the mo, so spending time relaxing down the beach! So yeah, it’s going well.”
The team were based at Kalima Resort and Spa in Phuket.
A BBC spokesman denied that the group had stopped filming. He said the show had not been scrapped because one of the boys found out, but that they had decided before they flew out to Thailand not to take part, the Telegraph reported.
