We got a piece of good news for Bangkok’s many, many burger lovers last night. One of the city’s favorite burgers, Bad Burger in Asoke, has opened a new mini branch in On Nut’s The Beacon Place, the same complex where cult dive bar Cheap Charlie’s now resides.
In fact, the new Bad Burger is right across the walkway from the bar in the space formerly occupied by a coffee shop, which means they have a few tables inside for those that want to eat indoors.
Owner and chef Panida “Poupée” Paethanom told Coconuts Bangkok that they had their soft opening last night, but will have a grand opening party on Friday, Oct. 13, with the first 30 customers getting buy one, get one specials.
Though Bad Burger has an extensive burger menu at their Asoke location, including chicken, pork, lamb, and veggie burgers as well as ribs and side dishes like mac and cheese, onion rings, and coleslaw, the On Nut location is a small spot with a tiny kitchen and will be turning out just the restaurant’s staple burger, The Basic Bitch (an Australian beef patty with homemade pickles, cheddar, Bad Burger sauce, lettuce and tomato), for now, with single, double or triple patties available (starting at THB169). Get some fries on the side for THB50. To wash it down, they’ll have bottled craft beers from THB169 as well.
Poupée plans to add more items as she sees what the small space can handle.
