A German institution in the heart of Bangkok where untold schnitzel and pints have been pounded for four decades will say auf wiedersehen to its home on Soi Sukhumvit 20.

Tomorrow will be the last day Bei Otto’s in the Bavarian-style brewhouse complete with Tudor facade where it operated over three decades, the restaurant announced this afternoon. Starting next week, those who love its on-brand pours of dark German lagers or deli’s authentic sauerkraut and meats will have to trek to its new location on Petchaburi Road.

The new Bei Otto opens Tuesday at 1938 Petchaburi Road.

Drop by around 1:30pm on Thursday and tell us your favorite Bei Otto story.

Correction: An earlier version of this story mistakenly indicated it was the Bei Otto’s original location. After interviewing Otto, we learned it was its second home.
