10 of the best dining deals at BK Restaurant Week 2023

BK Restaurant Week is back for 2023! For the past five years BKRW has been Bangkok’s first-and-only true dining week dedicated to the best deals at the best restaurants in town—and this year we have some heaters for you. The 10 venues listed here are only a small slice of the 50+ restaurants that have joined us this year (stay tuned for more updates throughout next week).

Pre-booking for BKRW starts on Sep 25 for UOB and TMRW card holders (anyone with a Thailand-based Citibank branded card can also join the pre-booking period). UOB is the official title sponsor of BK Restaurant Week 2023, so diners with UOB affiliated cards get early booking privileges as well as special complementary items with each booking. The event is also supported by Perrier and Vittel as premium water sponsors and you’ll find their product at select venues during the event.

Public booking for all card types starts on Oct 2

Juksunchae

The pre-opening buzz around Juksunchae was real this year, partly thanks to their position as one of the city’s very first (and still only a few) Korean fine dining restaurants. Start off your meal with a tangy soy sauce-cured grouper, followed by short ribs that have been smoked for 12 hours and glazed in a gojuchang sauce, and round it all out with a homemade anpang served with toasted rice ice cream and green tea drizzle.

OJI Omakase

The fact that OJI Omakase regularly tops people’s lists of favorite omakase restaurants is a testament to the venue’s commitment to “cospa” (i.e. cost performance). After all, where else will you find an affordable 12-course omakase meal made with the freshest, high-quality ingredients? On the sushi side of things, you have ika, kuruma ebi, and anago, and that’s not mentioning the non-sushi items such as the bara mini don and the fluffy castella.

Cafe Wolseley Bangkok

A branch of London’s iconic The Wolseley, the Bangkok venue holds its own alongside its namesake. Expect traditional European fare, with diners able to pick from one of two choices for each course. Try a classic French Onion soup before diving into signature Wolseley’s 5-day marinated coq au vin. For dessert, choose between a decadent crème brûlée or a rich chocolate and orange truffle torte.

Kisso Japanese Restaurant

Another stellar omakase restaurant with even more stellar prices, sit back and settle into the chic surroundings of Kisso Japanese Restaurant before diving into their meticulously prepared dishes. The appetizer includes a crab meat-stingray-avocado trio to warm you up for the main course—an impressive assortment of sushi and maki featuring favorites like salmon, scallop, and California maki. Dessert is a warm zenzai with a homemade mochi cake.

Fatboy Izakaya

Fatboy’s menu is Japanese fare with a fun twist, which is also an apt description of the venue’s lively vibes. Customers have three options across appetizer, maki, and a main course. The spicy avocado maki is always a crowd favorite, and you can opt for a slightly more traditional main dish via the wagyu fat fried rice, or something unexpected with the ramen cacio e pepe.

Mother BKK

The team behind “Mother” picked their name to allude to “mother nature,” so it’s no surprise that their menu features the freshest ingredients that mother nature has to offer. Your meal starts off with a light steamed baby pumpkin and the “oyster of the day” to prepare you for the expertly grilled catfish main. Finally, diners will be presented with the “9K” dessert—a smoked mascarpone cheese pie topped with a delicate balance of salted egg yolk sauce and earl gray ice-cream.

Ms. Maria & Mr. Singh

A solid favorite within the BK office, Ms. Maria & Mr. Singh serves flavor-packed Indian-Mexican fare in a casual atmosphere. Brought to you by the famed Chef Gaggan Anand, diners will be treated to a seabass aguachile starter, before they choose from either pork vindaloo tacos or the spicier tacos de abañil. Dessert is crispy, cinnamon-y churros served alongside toasted sticky rice ice-cream.

Guilty

In addition to being one of the city’s few Peruvian restaurants, Guilty puts an even more unique twist on things by serving Peruvian Nikkei (Peruvian ingredients molded by Japanese techniques) fare. Begin with the sea bass ceviche “robalo” whose sweet potato purée and tiger milk are balanced out by a punchy chili oil. Next, cut into the Brazilian-style grilled Wagyu steak, before ending your South American culinary journey with a classic tres leches cake.

Yamazato

At Yamazato (a counterpart of the Michelin-starred Amsterdam-based Yamazato), diners will be presented with their own shokado bento featuring an assortment of the restaurant’s “haute Japanese” fare. All you have to do is pick your oshokuji (simmered vegetables, shirasu fish, or pickle and miso) and dessert (we recommend the matcha pudding) to accompany your bento, which includes otsukuri with three types of miso, and a sizzling salmon teriyaki.

GIGLIO Trattoria Fiorentina

As the name suggests, GIGLIO serves Tuscan-style dishes with a focus on classic, flavorful recipes. The roasted beef carpaccios rocket salad is a light starter that seamlessly eases into the vegetable soup second course (served with homemade Tuscan bread, of course). Handmade pici pasta in a hearty sausage and porcini mushroom ragu is the pièce de résistance. And, as the Italians do, end your night with a creamy panna cotta.
