Photo Essay: ‘V for Thailand’ protests at Ratchaprasong

About 1,000 anti-government “V for Thailand” protesters – many wearing Guy Fawkes masks – gathered around CentralWorld in downtown Bangkok yesterday afternoon.

A reported 100 Red Shirts counter-protested against the “V for Thailand” group across the street in front of Gaysorn Mall.

Roughly 700 riot police were on hand at Ratchaprasong Intersection to prevent potential violence but no major clashes occurred, according to the Bangkok Post.

Coconuts photographer Zanyasan Tanantpapat took a trip downtown yesterday to capture these images of the protests.
