Thais who want to visit America must first get approval from the US Embassy in Bangkok, which has a reputation as one of the toughest places in town to get a visa.
The embassy is also home to the American Citizen Services Office that spearheads outreach for Americans living, working, and occasionally getting arrested in Thailand.
Besides that, the embassy is the workplace of Ambassador Kristie Kenney and the strategic heart of the 180-year-old relationship between the US and Thailand, America’s oldest treaty ally in Asia.
Coconuts TV took a trip to 95 Wireless Rd. for a closer look at what happens behind the heavily fortified walls of the US Embassy in Bangkok.
