Filipinos continue to sing praises for the Philippines’ Miss Universe bet Catriona Gray.
They love her so much that she goes viral for every little thing that she does. Seriously. Who else would trend on Twitter for twirling?
But that’s exactly what happened last night when a video of Gray twirling in slow motion during the pageants preliminary swimsuit competition went viral yesterday.
The slow-mo twirl everyone’s talking about can be seen in this video’s 49:00 mark:
And it made Pinoys go nuts on social media.
@TitaMaroon compared Gray to a real-life Adobe Premiere Pro: “Catriona Gray doesn’t need a video editor, she can slo-mo and speed up her motion by herself. We stan a living Adobe Premiere Pro.”

@MigsGomez tweeted Gray’s walk in a basketball-like narration.
“CATRIONA GRAY GOES DOWN THE COURT, AT THE MIDDLE, LOOKS AT HER DEFENDERS, SHE SPINS, QUICK STEP, DEFENDERS GO DOWN, SHE LOOKS BACK AT THEM, AND THE CROWD GOES WILDDDDDD.”
Imagine that kind of commentator at a beauty pageant.

“That SLOWMO will snatch wigs!!!!! My scalp is shaking!!!” exclaimed @jPatrickPineda.
For those that need some help with internet slang, when netizens say someone snatched a wig, it means someone did something amazing.

@bonnienay noted how quickly Gray can switch her facial expression during the walk.
“[From] a fierce, fiery goddess to a sweet damsel in a snap of a finger. She should also receive the Best Actress Award, next to the #MissUniverse2018 crown.”

@itsbeben11 shared a video of Gray saying backstage that she did her own hair and makeup during the evening gown preliminary round where she wore an Ibong Adarna (Adarna bird)-inspired gown.
The Twitter user captioned it: “Me as a group leader.”
“Cat, who did your hair and makeup?” ABS-CBN News correspondent Dyan Castillejo asks in the video.
“Me!” Gray exclaims in Filipino.
“Your hair also?” Castillejo says in an amused tone. “Promise! Yes,” Gray quips.

The pageant’s selection committee will pick the semifinalists to advance to the top 20 which will be announced on Dec. 17, coronation night.
Before joining the Miss Universe contest, Gray joined another global contest in 2017, Miss World, where she landed at the top 5.
If Gray passes the preliminary competition and wins Miss Universe 2018, she would be the fourth Filipina to bring home the crown, after Pia Wurtzbach in 2015, Margie Moran in 1973, and Gloria Diaz in 1969.
