A local woman has been filmed unleashing a torrent of verbal abuse at a domestic helper, shouting at her to “go back to the Philippines” during a five-minute tirade at a park in Hong Kong yesterday.

The woman, who has been slammed on Facebook, where two videos of the incident have been shared 21,000 times and garnered more than 700,000 views, repeatedly scolds the domestic helper — who is caring for a young child in a stroller — because of the behavior of the two dogs she is looking after.

The dogs, the woman says, “always keep barking.” She also accuses one of the dogs of biting her dog, which the helper denies. The woman, though, continues her rant, suggesting for some reason that it was  inappropriate to walk dogs and a child at the same time.

“You should shut the fuck up! You are just a helper, OK?” the woman shouts.

“Why you bring the baby together with the dog!” she yells at another point, as the child, visibly upset by the rant, cries.

As the helper tries to stay calm, the woman turns to demanding to speak to her employer, shouting “Ask your boss come here I tell him the rules.”

“Or you give your number I call your boss, OK? Call your boss now! Ask him to come here now! I’m telling you, are wrong! [When you] take care of the baby you bring your two dogs, and your dogs… always keep barking, you should control your dog.”

When the helper replies “I am controlling them,” the local woman responds “you are not because your dog is barking at my dog!”

She suggests other people are also upset at the barking dogs, though it appears people in that area would definitely not be shocked by the sound.

Though a location is not listed on the video, photos online appear to suggest it happened at a public dog park on the Tseung Kwan O Waterfront.

As the helper obliges the woman and rings her employer, she continues her tongue lashing: “You actually should not be a helper, you know. If I’m a boss I would fire you. You have really bad attitude.”

After getting off the phone with her boss, the helper writes down her number and her boss’ number telling the local woman to call him, though she insists the employer come to the park immediately.

“We are working! You call him!” the helper responds. “He asked me to give you the number, OK?”

The local woman eventually decides to personally call the helper’s boss, and the helper leaves the park with the two dogs and baby in tow.

Though how the employer reacted is unknown, condemnation of the local woman’s behavior was swift.

“Why doesn’t the lady just get her own park?” one commenter suggested.

“Chinese lady, we know how to listen during calm conversations but when you stir things with us, we’re Filipinos, we’ll fight,” another domestic helper chimed in.

Facebook user Marydhale Tamayo, meanwhile, noted the injustice of the situation.

“The helper is already multitasking and still she gets scolded? I feel bad for her.”

Evie Anoran Nagaya, another Facebook user, asked a pertinent question.

“Didn’t the Chinese [woman] feel ashamed?” she wrote.

“So many people were looking and she still kept on blabbing. I feel sorry for the baby.”
