A horrific story to report from Melaka this morning: a teenager is now dead after his uncle and two other men beat him to death for allegedly stealing money from his grandfather.
In a sick twist, parts of the vicious attack have made their way onto Facebook, where clips and photos have been shared over 3,000 times, and watched by more than 300,000.
The boy can be seen shirtless, being whipped by two men. In other parts, the men can be seen using a garden hose and a stick to beat him amidst his pleading screams.
In another part of the video, under duress, the victim admits to stealing RM4,000 (US$1,000) from his grandfather.
Honestly, it’s very difficult to watch this sort of unbridled violence. It can be found here but we urge caution due to the video’s deeply disturbing nature.
The 16-year-old victim has been identified as M. Arunasalam, and he was rushed to Melaka General Hospital on Wednesday, after passersby found him unconscious at a bus stop in Ayer Keroh. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries within 30 minutes after arrival.
Police have classified the case as murder.
