A 70-year-old sex offender was arrested in Pampanga, a province north of Manila, by the Philippines’ Bureau of Immigration over the weekend.
According to a report in SunStar Pampanga, immigration officials were acting on a request from the United States government.
Omar Pelletier, an American national, is wanted by a Florida court for not reporting his change of address, a violation of his parole terms.
He was arrested in the U.S. in 2016 and sentenced to 18 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release for possessing child pornography.
According to immigration commissioner Jaime Morente, a deportation order will be issued against Pelletier laster this week.
